40 teachers being replaced at two Lee Co. schools

Two Lee County schools aren’t measuring up to par. Now, district leaders are taking big steps to get the schools back on course.

Up to 40 teachers won’t be back at Fort Myers Middle Academy or Colonial Elementary next year.

The schools are not performing as well as the district would like.

“The most important piece of data we look at is student growth. How much is a student going to grow in one year versus what they’re predicted they should be growing in that year,” Assistant Superintendent of Operations, Dr. Greg Adkins explained.
