WHO: Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida invites you to join in signing the Pool Safely Pledge during Pool Safely Pledge Week 2014. Children 1-4 years old are at the greatest risk of drowning, and the Pool Safely campaign is increasing its efforts to share lifesaving simple steps with the community.
WHAT: Midsummer is a great time to remind American families cooling off at pools and water parks that part of having fun in and around the water means taking vital safety steps to ensure children and family members are safe and do not drown. This year, the Pool Safely: Simple Steps Save Lives campaign is hosting Pool Safely Pledge Week 2014 – an entire week dedicated to reminding all adults and children to take the Pool Safely Pledge and pool safely every day. In less than one minute you can add your voice and support to keeping children safe around water. Swimmers who make the Pledge receive an “I Took the Pledge” sticker. Follow @poolsafely on Twitter for info and events around the Pledge.
WHEN: Friday, July 18, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Pool Safely Pledge Week is July 14 to 20).
WHERE: Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida (HealthPark) atrium
