Kelsey Loyd, Chautauqua County Animal Shelter, said “Lady” had been adopted twice. But she still manages to come back to the shelter.
The first family said the senior dog didn’t get along with other pets. “Lady” was then adopted to a second family, 30 miles away. She escaped from the backyard and walked back to her previous owner’s home.
Since then, she’s struggled to find a permanent home.
“Super dog, gentle, calm dog,” he said. “If I had to pick a dog this would have been the dog I would take.”
“Lady’s” life quickly changed when Helen Rich saw her story on Facebook. Rich is an heiress to the Wrigley’s gum company. Rich lives in Florida and owns a shelter there. She’s rescued more than 300 other animals.
She sent her assistant to pick up Lady in style.
