5 Headache Remedies You Have To Try
Few things can grind a productive day to a halt like a headache.
You try to pop some medicine and push through it, but it’s just a day crusher. Whether you deal with full blown migraines, face tension headaches, or are coping with another type of pain, here are some natural remedies that can help you stay productive and feel better:
Apply a few drops to your temples and the back of your neck, or add it to a diffuser and experience its healing effects. Added bonus: lavender oil is also helpful if you have trouble falling asleep.
Peppermint oil can help break up tension in the head and neck, plus it promotes better blood flow. When applied topically or used through a diffuser, it can help your headache to disintegrate.
Becoming Aware of Diet Triggers
For many people, headaches are triggered by food, so paying close attention to specific food sensitivities cut down on the number of headaches you face. If you find that you’re getting frequent headaches, try cutting out dairy, red wine, caffeine, and foods with high amounts of sodium, as those are frequent triggers. You may also find it beneficial to keep a food diary so you can more effectively see the link between your diet and your headaches.
Reflexology has a long history when it comes to curing headaches, so if you find yourself dealing with pain, book yourself an appointment on the massage table.
Many sufferers find that their headaches are worse when they skip meals or let themselves get dehydrated throughout the day. Make it a point to keep snacks and a bottle of water with you in your purse, at your desk, or in your car so it’s easy to eat and drink something even if your day gets busy.
