Bad News For Anyone Who Downloaded iOS 11
Hooray! It’s iOS update day. But wait, not so fast …
Chances are, if you were eager to download the new update to the iOS mobile operating system, you might have been a bit annoyed once you realized some of your favorite apps were NOT compatible with iOS11.
Yikes!
The reasoning behind this is prior to 2013, most apps were designed for 32-bit processors, while new-age apps are designed for 64-bit processors.
According to New York Magazine, iPhone users can check which apps are compatible with the new iOS update by going to Settings, General, About, and Applications. Once there, you should see a list of apps that are not compatible with iOS 11.
You’ll have the option to either update the app(s) so that they are compatible, but it’s quite plausible that a compatible app does not exist.
In conclusion, if you have an older app you absolutely can’t live without, you should do some research and make sure the app is compatible with iOS 11 before you perform a software update on your iPhone.
