Jose Raul Bonilla, the alleged Zombicon killer goes before a judge today. Bonilla is accused of shooting into a crowd at a former Fort Myers downtown festival called Zombicon , killing one person and injuring several others. Police have been very tight-lipped about the case releasing few details. The arrest came more than 2 years after the October 2015 incident.
The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office is on the lookout for 2 men who robbed a patron of a $10,000 necklace at The PaddyWagon Irish Pub over the weekend. The suspects have been identified as 23 year old Deandra Williams and 22 year old Khalil Bynum. If you know their whereabouts contact the Sheriff’s Office.
We have an ID on the 2 people injured in a drive-by shooting on Belmont St in Fort Myers early yesterday morning. 38 year old Zarifer King and her 19 year old son James Benjamin both suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Both are recovering at Lee Memorial Hospital.
A Florida House Committee voted yesterday to put armed teachers in classrooms in the wake of the Parkland school shooting. The measure now goes to the House. A similar bill is working it’s way through the Senate. The House bill would leave participation up to individual school districts.
