Four people were killed yesterday at Florida International University when a brand new pedestrian bridge collapsed. Nine others have been hospitalized. Search and rescue teams are still on site and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the collapse of the 950 ton foot bridge.
Authorities released 27 minutes of footage from the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School that clearly shows former school resource deputy Scot Peterson standing outside the building where 17 people were being killed, then running out of view of the cameras. Peterson’s actions had been criticized by law enforcement in the days following the shooting , and he retired from the Broward Sheriff’s Office a few days later.
Charlotte County Deputies have arrested a convenience store worker for allegedly taking pictures of women inside a bathroom at a Publix across the street from where he worked. Police say they found over a dozen photos on Erik Sockwell’s phone, and he was seen on surveillance video entering the Publix women’s restroom the same day a woman reported seeing a man’s hand holding a phone in that same restroom.
