What SWFL Is Talking About May 14th

The rain has arrived, but the fires continue to burn in Collier County as more than 80 thousand acres  continue to burn…5 fires in total. A local firefighter was injured over the weekend battling a blaze in the Big Cypress National Preserve…He was taken to a local hospital with a leg injury. Fire officials say he’ll be OK.


58 year old Richard Sheeran of Naples has been arrested and charged with impersonating a police officer. Sheeran responded to a friend’s request to come to the scene of an arrest, and when he did, he showed a badge and told police he was a retired agent with the bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. After checking his credentials deputies discovered that information was incorrect, and Sheeran had also been arrested in Collier County four times since 2001.


51 year old Jeannette Harned has been arrested and charged with robbing a senior citizen at a North Fort Myers gas station. Harned is a homeless woman and she’s described as a repeat offender with a lengthy arrest record.
