Last nights heavy rain caused some flooding in the Lehigh Acres area….up to 5 inches of rain fell…Lee Blvd and Griffin Drive were some of the hardest his streets. There are no road closures at this time.
Sanibel Police arrested 2 men yesterday who were attempting to break in to a home on Dixie Beach Blvd. Police were alerted by the homeowner, who was out of state, but was alerted by his security system that someone was trying to enter the home. Joseph Aquino, and Jordan Via have been charged with loitering, prowling and other charges.
Police have arrested a teenager and charged him with robbery after he robbed a man at gunpoint during a meeting to sell a phone back in April. Jonathan Avila was taken into custody earlier this week.
The Caloosahatchee Bridge was closed for a time yesterday afternoon after a man jumped off the bridge. He was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital. He has not been identified.
