Sammy Hamilton Jr., the former Mayor of Everglades City has been arrested on grand theft and misconduct charges. Authorities say Hamilton allegedly used his position as Mayor to steal close to $50 thousand dollars in city funds.
37 year old Steven Barker of Cape Coral was arrested over the weekend after police say he allegedly attacked his girlfriend for waking him up. He was uncooperative during his arrest and had to be Tased, and later at a local hospital he struck a nurse and scratched another officer. He’s been charged with aggravated battery, two counts of battery on a police officer, and other charges.
Cape Coral Police arrested Paul Anderson early Saturday in the Industrial Park area of the Cape. Workers at the Industrial Park said a man approached them, asking if they wanted to dance. Police were called and arrested Anderson who they say has been arrested 40 times previously. The suspect was found to be in possession of methsmphetamine.
