Police have identified the couple found shot to death in their home in Northwest Cape Coral earlier this week. The bodies of Carmela and James McEachern were found by family members. Police have not identified the shooter, but they do say they are not currently seeking a suspect and there is no danger to the public.
An emergency session of the Lee County Commission will be held today to work on solutions for cleaning up the blue-green algae that has been choking our area waterways. Today’s meeting will begin at 9:30 and the county will be announcing the hiring of a firm to clean up the foul smelling algae which has become a public health threat and a threat to our local economy.
Police have arrested 27 year old Randy Vartal and charged him with allegedly setting his San Carlos Park house on fire Wednesday. He’s been charged with 2nd degree arson and is being held on bond.
