A Cape Coral man has been arrested on 2nd degree murder charges after a shooting yesterday on Harbour Circle. Gerald Koller is in the Lee County Jail accused of shooting Jonathan Breedmore. The suspect is being held with no bond.
Cape Coral residents packed the ballroom at the Yacht Club yesterday to listen and at times shout down members of the Army Corps of Engineers who came to talk about our algae crisis. While the meeting was going on…a dead manatee actually washed up on the Yacht Club Beach. A representative from the Corps told the audience that their hands are tied to a certain extent by federal government regulations. Algae cleanup will begin today in Cape Coral and North Fort Myers.
Meanwhile our partners at NBC-2 are reporting that a Lee County man had to be hospitalized after eating shellfish he harvested on Fort Myers Beach. Doctors are recommending that you avoid eating any fish from affected algae or red tide areas..
