Red tide clean up efforts continue at Lee County beaches…and now the County has revealed how they’re going to tackle the algae clean up….The county has contracted with a company that will treat the algae similar to how you would deal with an oil spill…skimming the algae and then transporting it to a treatment plant in Northern Lee County. They hope to begin removing the algae in North Fort Myers later today.
The husband of a 51 year old North Fort Myers woman was arrested on charges that he shot and killed her earlier this week. Michael Newhouse has been charged with 2nd degree murder. He’s currently in an Osceola County jail awaiting transfer to Lee County.
Services for Adam Jobbers Miller, the Fort Myers Police Officer shot and killed by an illegal Haitian Immigrant are scheduled for Sunday from 4:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. at Gendron Funeral Home, 2325 East Mall Drive, Ft Myers. A funeral ceremony will take place on Monday at 12:00 p.m. at Germain Arena, 11000 Everblades Parkway, Estero. Both are open to the public.
