It was a weekend of protests in Southwest Florida and around the state with events sponsored by South Florida Clean Water Movement Saturday. Their “Death March” brought hundreds to downtown Fort Myers to protest releases from Lake Okeechobee, and up and down the west coast Sunday morning, thousands came together to join “Hands Along the Water.” More than 30 beaches around the state participated in “Hands Along The Water,” and the message was the same at all the protests….clean up our water now!!
Meanwhile… An unidentified woman had to be rescued from the water on Fort Myers Beach early this morning. The woman’s friends contacted authorities when they found her clothes on the beach. The woman was rescued about a mile off the beach neat the Outrigger Resort. She’s expected to be OK.
Florida House candidate Melissa Howard is under fire after revelations that she used a fake diploma and lied about receiving a degree from Miami University. The school claims the diploma is counterfeit and they have no record of Howard receiving a degree from the University…

Stranded on a Unicorn Here’s a rescue that doesn’t make headlines every day, saving a group of women stuck on a floating unicorn. Some law enforcement officials were driving by a lake in Minnesota when they saw a group of women stuck on the floating single-horned animal in a sea of weeds. Lucky for them, the deputies stopped and came to their rescue using ropes to pull them back to the dock. Have you ever found yourself in a slightly embarrassing situation that you needed rescue from?
