Hurricane Florence has re-strengthened into a Category-4 storm…The latest forecast track has been shifted, but impact will be felt from South Carolina to as far north as Maryland and Delaware. Florence is forecast to slow down and dump close to 30 inches of rain across parts of Virginia and North Carolina.


  • Residents on the East Coast are bracing for hurricane Florence and some airlines are helping those wanting to escape the storm by waiving fees.
  • American Airlines is offering a rebooking window between September 10-19 as well as fees being waived for flights booked beyond Sept. 19, though customers may have to pay a recalculated fare.
  • Jetblue is covering dates between September 13th-15th and will Rebooking flights with dates of September 10th-20th; Flights booked beyond September 20th are also eligible for waived fees, though customers may have to pay a recalculated fare.
  • Southwest Airlines will cover flights with dates of September 12th-16th and flights can be re-booked within 14 days of original flight date.


Fort Myers Beach has received 300 thousand dollars to help play for beach clean up in the wake of our red tide emergency. Conditions at the beach have improved somewhat and crowds have started returning.


Two bodies were found in a canal near Clewiston. Police believe they may have drowned while picking palmetto berries. The Hendry County Police hasn’t released their identities.


We made this announcement late in the show yesterday.. After 30 years of serving Lee County Sheriff Mike Scott has announced that he’ll retire effective later this month. Governor Scott is expected to name Undersheriff Carmine Marceno to replace Sheriff Scott until the next election in 2020.
