Hurricane Michael continues to strengthen…as of the 5am Advisory winds are up to 90 mph. Landfall is still expected Wednesday in the panhandle. The main effects here in Southwest Florida will be increased wind and rain, and perhaps some minor coastal flooing. We’ll have complete reports throughout the morning from NBC-2 meteorologist Jason Dunning.

A janitor at Charlotte High School has been fired and arrested for allegedly showing pornographic material to a student. 72 year old Lawrence Williams has been charged with showing obscene material to a minor. The school district said it would be reporting the case to the Department of Education so that Williams can’t work in a different school district.

 

There’s some funny money circulating through Southwest Florida. Police are investigating six cases of counterfeit money being used at stores in Fort Myers, North Fort Myers and Estero. Police ask if you have any information to contact them immediately.

 

Trump Says He Likes Taylor Swift’s “Music About 25 Percent Less Now”

 

  • President Trump had time to talk to TMZ cameras on the South Lawn on Monday to voice his opinion about Taylor Swift’s backing of two Democrats in her hometown of Tennessee.
  • Swift also had some strong words for Representative Marsha Blackburn who is running for U.S. Senate, which Trump says Blackburn is doing very well in the race and that Taylor knows nothing about the ‘wonderful woman’ and that he “likes Taylor Swift’s music 25% less now.”
  • Trump supporter, Judge Jeanine Pirro told TMZ  that Taylor needs to ‘stick to signing’ and when asked if Taylor could change Tennessee from a red state to a blue state, comedian D.L. Hughley said, “If a game show host can be president, then Taylor can do it.”

 

 

 

Taylor Swift Causes Spike in Voter Registration

  • Who knew that an Instagram post from Taylor Swift would turn the world of politics on its head like this? Because of her IG post supporting Democrats, voter registration in her home state of Tennessee has spiked dramatically!
  • “We are up to 65,000 registrations in a single 24-hour period since T. Swift’s post,” said Kamari Guthrie of vote.org.
  • This spike is second only to the number of people who visited the site to register on National Voter Registration Day back on September 25.
  • Since Swift’s post supporting two Tennessee Democrats, she’s caught the criticism of Mike Huckabee and the President himself. To which Guthrie says, “Thank God for Taylor Swift.”

 

 

Little Caesars Allegedly Caught Selling DiGiorno Frozen Pizzas

  • Is it “Pizza Pizza” or is it “DiGiorno DiGiorno?”
  • Little Ceasars says that they are currently investigating one of their locations after the restaurant was accused of selling DiGiorno frozen pizza.
  • Twitter user @vinandwesson started the controversy when he posted a video taken at his local Little Caesars.
  • In the video, it appears that one of the workers is standing next to a shopping cart full of DiGiorno pizza.
