More gunfire in Fort Myers over the weekend. Three people were injured in the early morning hours Sunday after a fight ended in gunfire outside the Tea Room in the Miracle Plaza on Cleveland Avenue. The three injured people are expected to be OK. Police recovered weapons at the scene. No arrests have been announced.
A possible gang related shooting in the neighborhood around Jacksonville’s TIAA field prior to Sunday’s Jaquars/Texans game left 6 people wounded, three critically. There was no link between the game and the shooting. No arrests have been made and police say they’ll increase patrols in the area
20 year old Isabel Melendez was killed Saturday at Egmont Park near St. Pete when a palm tree fell on here while she was laying in a hammock. She was taken to a local hospital where she later died.
Environmental issues don’t seem to be affecting passenger counts at RSW Airport as the Lee County Port Authority reported a record month for September. Over 418 thousand passengers came through Southwest Florida International Airport last Month. Close to a 30 percent increase over last year.
