One winning ticket was apparently sold for the world record $1.6 million Mega Millions jackpot. It was purchased in South Carolina.
President Trump has signed the federal Water Resources Development Act . WRDA includes a list of water projects that included the reservoir south of Lake Okeechobee. The law authorizes but doesn’t provide funding for the feds to pay their half of the $1.6 billion Everglades Agricultural Area Reservoir. With consistent funding, designing and building the project will take nine to 10 years, said a South Florida Water Management District spokesman.
57 year old Timothy Hill has been charged with carjacking using a weapon and kidnapping after an attempted carjacking in a Wal-Mart parking lot in Port Charlotte. His female victim fought back however, eventually using her lit cigarette as a weapon, and police arrested him a short time later. Hill was booked into the Charlotte County jail.
Lee County Deputies have identified the victims of a murder in Lehigh Acres on 22nd St. SW. 36 year old Pavel Malashenkov, and 72 year old Felix Gonzalez were shot Monday in a domestic incident, and police are not looking for any suspects at this time.
The candidates for Florida governor Ron DeSantis and Andrew Gillum are scheduled to debate for the final time at Broward Community College. Currently, Gillum holds about a ten point lead in the polls.
