What SWFL Is Talking About 11/7
Ron DeSantis is our new Governor and it looks like Rick Scott will be heading to Washington as they both narrowly won their respective races for Governor and US Senator in yesterday’s election. Senator Bill Nelson has yet to concede….and the race is close enough that it might trigger an automatic re-count.
Statewide…incumbents also won in the State House races with Heather Fitzenhagen, Ray Rodrigues, and Dane Eagle winning re-election. They’ll be joined in Tallahassee by newly elected Spencer Roach. Amendment 9 passed banning offshore oil drilling and indoor vaping in workplaces…and Floridians also voted to end Greyhound Racing in the state.
Nationally, Democrats took control of the House of Representatives and Republicans maintained control of the Senate.
