Matt Caldwell has conceded in the race for Commissioner of Agriculture. Nikki Fried a Democrat becomes the new Commissioner, by less than 7,000 votes

 

Police have arrested Christopher Alcorn of Fort Myers and charged him with attempted murder. He’s accused of shooting two minors following a dispute with his son. The boys involved in that shooting also got into a motor vehicle accident while driving to the hospital to deal with their gunshot wounds. Alcorn has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery.

 

Elwood Robinson of Olga has been arrested in connection with the execution style killings of 2 teens in a field Saturday morning.  The dead teens identified as  William Hughes,  and Jeremy Stewart. Robinson faces two counts of second-degree murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and impersonating an officer.

 

Lee County Deputies report that shots were fired in the parking lot of the Public store on Summerlin Road in Fort Myers about 8pm Sunday night. No arrests

 

Charlotte County police have arrested 40 year old Melissa Langstine Troyano and charged her with child neglect after her children were found to be living in deplorable conditions . Police also found a dead cat inside a freezer filled with expired meat.

 

44 year old Jeff Countryman, a former Pastor at Cape Christian Fellowship Church has been arrested and charged with allegedly stealing over $30,000 in church funds. He’s been released from jail and will be back in court next month.

 

 

Don’t Force Your Kids To Hug Relatives, On Thanksgiving Or Ever

  • As the holidays roll around it’s important to talk to your family about how to interact physically with relatives.  Consent is a fundamental part of a healthy relationship and teenagers and children need to know what it means when it comes to romance and sex and for the latter, bodily anatomy.
  • Remind your kids that no one is allowed to touch them without asking. Parenting expert, Dr. Deborah Gilboa says “It is super confusing to send kids the mixed messages of body privacy and body safety and then force them to do something intimate with their bodies.”
  • Somethings you may tell your kids like, “Do it because she loves you,” or “He’s come all this way to see you.” may be the same statements used by an abuser. And for older relatives, it’s important to share these rules with them as they may get offended by a child that says ‘no.’
  • Finding a greeting that you’re children are comfortable with is important, instead of a hug or kiss they may be more comfortable with a high-five, a fist bump or showing grandma and grandpa their latest social media video. The key is to build healthy, happy relationships.

 

 

Rolling Stones Announce 2019 U.S. Stadium Tour

  • The Rolling Stones are bringing their ‘No Filter’ tour to the U.S. in 2019.
  • The ageless rockers announced a 13-date U.S. stadium tour beginning April 20th at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.  It marks the Stones’ first trip to North America since 2015.
  • Mick Jagger says the ‘No Filter’ tour will be ‘straight-ahead, and no frills’.  Keith Richards says it’s not a farewell tour, but a ‘hello again’ tour.
