Today is a National day of mourning to honor the memory of ex-President George H.W. Bush. Federal offices will be closed today. No mail delivery. President Bush’s funeral is today at the National Cathedral in Washington at 11am. The body will then be taken to Houston for two memorial services. he will be laid to rest at the site of his Presidential Library.
We now have conflicting reports on whether or not we have airborne algae in our area…Last month FGCU released a study that showed that toxins from blue-green algae in Cape Coral were airborne….the effects on our health…inconclusive at this time.
Now have a study prepared by the Florida Department of Health in September which showed no signs of airborne toxins, although the study did say that more testing and research are necessary.
Deputies in Lee County are looking into a shooting at a CVS store in Lehigh Acres. We’re working on getting more information, but apparently someone was shot in the store parking lot at Lee Blvd and Homestead Road.
