We’re getting more insight into our most recent Florida election. This time it looks like close to 7 thousand mail-in ballots weren’t counted because they were delivered too late to state elections offices. According to state law, ballots mailed inside the U.S. must reach election offices by 7 p.m. Election Day. Overseas ballots are counted if they are received up to 10 days After the election.
Charlotte County Police have arrested Kenneth Summerall, a former worker at the Royal Palm Retirement Home in Port Charlotte for allegedly beating an 84 year old resident with a belt back in September. Summerall has been fired. The incident wasn’t reported to authorities until last month. He’s facing several charges.
Once again, the Collier County Commissioners have voted down a proposal that would have allowed marijuana dispensaries in the county. Pro-marijuana forces say they’ll continue to work to bring medical marijuana to Collier County.
Police arrested a Broward County woman at a Pompano Beach bar after witnesses say she sealed four puppies inside a small backpack and violently swung the bag in the air. 27 year old Teresa Teresa Gardner is facing several charges including animal cruelty. A Broward Animal Care spokesman says the puppies appear to be in good health.
