Florida's water was on the mind of our new Governor Ron DeSantis and yesterday he called for the immediate resignations of all the governing board memebers of the South Florida Water Management District. During a stop in Bonita Springs, the Governor also signed an executive order that calls for $2.5 billion dollars over the next four years for Everglades Restoration and water resources in general. The order also calls for the establishment of a blue-green algae task force to focus on reducing the impacts of algae blooms over the next five years.

 

A 13 year old Wisconsin girl, missing since her parents were found murdered in October has been found alive. Jayme Closs disappeared in mid-October, the same day her parents were found dead in their home from gunshot wounds. Jayme was found about 70 miles from her home, and her alleged kidnapper has been apprehended. A news conference is scheduled for 11am.
