21 year old Zephen Zaver, accused of shooting and killing five people in a Sebring bank Wednesday appeared in court yesterday and the Judge ordered him held without bond. He’s been charged with five counts of pre-meditated murder. He’s been assigned a Public Defender.
We have the first casualty of the Ron DeSantis administration as his newly appointed Secretary of State, Michael Ertel had to step down yesterday after photos from 2005 surfaced of Ertel at a party in blackface, playing a female Hurricane Katrina victim. Ertel submitted his resignation yesterday afternoon to the Governor via e-mail writing, “It has been an honor to serve you and the voters of Florida.” He had no further comment.
Police have arrested 43 year old Printiss Garlin, a known drug dealer from Cape Coral and charged him with drug trafficking and smuggling, plus weapons possession charges. Police intercepted a package addressed to Garlin’s Cape Coral home. Inside that package, over 500 grams of ecstasy. A search os the suspects home also netted fentanyl, two guns, drug paraphernalia and several thousand dollars in cash.
