An Uber driver refused to transport a passenger he suspected of possessing marijuana, then used an app on his phone to help apprehend the suspect who was carrying 10 pounds of marijuana and 15 thousand dollars in cash. 38 year old Branden Charles of California was arrested. The Uber driver chooses to remain anonymous in fear of his safety.

Lee County Deputy Blake Grossi has been placed on administrative leave after video surfaced last week of him elbowing a teenage suspect in Fort Myers Shores.

 

23 year old Zachary Decherd was arrested over the weekend after a traffic stop and found to be in possession of marijuana, during his arrest, he allegedly spit on a Deputy. He’s now facing additional charges including battery on a police officer.

 

2 people were hospitalized, including a Lee County Deputy after an early morning crash yesterday at the intersection of State Road 82 and Lee Boulevard. No ID’s on the injured.

 

A sixth-grader from Lakeland has been arrested and now faces misdemeanor charges after he refused to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance and argued with his teacher. The 11-year-old told his teacher that the flag and the national anthem are offensive to black people, which prompted a heated argument with the substitute teacher at Lawton Chiles Middle Academy in Lakeland, Florida. The teacher called the district office, who called police. The boy was eventually charged with disruption of a school facility and resisting an officer without violence.
