Police are investigating a stabbing that took place last night in front of the Fort Myers Public Library downtown
Governor DeSantis named three new members to the South Florida Water Management District Board yesterday including Charlotte Roman of Marco Island who was the first At-Large Environmental Commissioner on the Collier County Planning Commission.
78 year old John Bayerl of Fort Myers has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the 1979 death of his wife Donna Mae in Muskegon, Wisconsin. Bayerl had remained a person of interest in the case all these years. His wife's body was never recovered.
Cape Coral Police and other agencies are continuing to investigate a possible hazmat situation at the Sam's Club on Pine Island Road in Cape Coral yesterday. A FedEx driver reported feeling ill after delivering package that contained an unknown powder. Nearby stores were placed on lockdown and the FedEx driver was hospitalized. That area has been declared safe.
