A gruesome killing in the waters off Marco Island Monday morning as 32 year old Casey Hickok allegedly killed his 62 year old father by bludgeoning him to death with a boat alternator while he slept. Several crew members reportedly witnessed the killing. Hickok was charged with first degree murder. He’s facing life in prison if convicted.

38 year old Garnett Salmon of Cape Coral, a Florida Southwestern State College registrar and Interim Director of Academic Advising has been arrested and charged with sexual battery. He’s accused of sexually assaulting a teen beginning when she was 13 year old. The college has put Salmon on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

 

Police released video images of two men they believe may be responsible for vandalizing the bust of Robert E Lee that is displayed in Downtown Fort Myers. Anyone with information on the pair is asked to call Crime stoppers.

 

We have 2 new leaders for the Village of Estero. District 1 Councilmember Bill Ribble was elected Mayor and Councilmember Katy Errington from the 4th District was elected Vice-Mayor

 

 

 

Finland Is The Happiest Nation On Earth

  • For the second straight year, Finland is the happiest place on Earth.
  • The country topped the U.N.’s World Happiness Report, which looks at factors like wealth, life expectancy, social support, and freedom to determine which country’s citizens are the happiest.
  • Scandinavians seem pretty happy overall – Denmark, Norway, and Iceland also placed in the top 5.  The U.S., meanwhile, dropped from 18th to 19th in the most recent list.

 

Jessica Simpson Gives Birth to Baby No. 3

  • Congratulations are in order for Jessica Simpson, who just gave birth to her third child.
  • The news came on Tuesday via Jessica’s Instagram where she shared a photo of her daughter holding the new additions hand, Simpson captioned the photo: “3.19.19 10 Pounds 13 Ounces.”
  • Jessica and husband, Eric Johnson have two other children, daughter, Maxwell Drew, 6, and son Ace Knute, 5. Jessica revealed that she was pregnant with her third child back in September.

  • After years of rumors and hoping, Bill and Ted will have a third adventure.
  • Bill and Ted Face The Music will hit theaters in 2020.
  • Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter will come back to their iconic roles.
  • Both actors made a video announcement about the news. They thanked fans for wanting them to return.

 

 

Drunk Americans Spend Nearly $40B a Year

  • It should come as no surprise to learn people often do irrational things when they’re drunk. But overspending while shopping?
  • A study released Wednesday reveals Americans spent nearly $40 billion while drunk shopping in 2018. Of that figure, 52 percent was spend on food; 43.22 percent was spent on shoes and clothing; and 43.22 percent was spent on cigarettes. Other items people bought while under the influence include cars, vacations and even a peacock.
  • The data, released by Finder.com and Pureprofile, was gleaned from a survey of 2,100 adults.
