A 15 year old boy who was walking to school was found bloody and unconscious in the grass near his home yesterday morning in Cape Coral, just two weeks after Layla Aiken was killed near her bus stop. The boy, Joseph Zimmer is OK, he’ll need some dental work and he was badly bruised. He was hit while crossing the street. Cape Coral police are investigating. Meanwhile police continue to investigate the Layla Aiken case. Still no arrests.
A van crashed into a storefront on Fowler Street in Fort Myers yesterday afternoon. No one was injured. Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
Three men were rescued off the coast of Naples when their 32 foot fishing boat sank. All three men are said to be in good condition.
32 year old Ben Padgett was arrested outside a Naples Olive Garden where police say he was drunk, shirtless and shoveling take-out spaghetti into his mouth. Earlier he had been panhandling, which caused management at the restaurant to call police. He was charged with disorderly intoxication and resisting an officer without violence.
