It was the first post on her social media since her Paper Magazine interview last fall. According to reports, the attention from the article, where she was open about her drug use and struggle with sobriety, triggered a relapse. She completed treatment at the beginning of this year and went on to finish her studies.
Of her drug use, Bynes has said that she is committed to staying sober.
“Those days of experimenting [with substances] are long over,” she told Paper.. “I’m not sad about it and I don’t miss it because I really feel ashamed of how those substances made me act. When I was off of them, I was completely back to normal and immediately realized what I had done — it was like an alien had literally invaded my body. That is such a strange feeling.”
