Collier County Deputies say they have several suspects in custody who they believe may be involved in a drive-by shooting in Immokalee yesterday in the Farmer’s Village on Amos Court. One person was injured. The investigation is on-going.

Charlotte County Deputies are looking for a suspect who robbed a Port Charlotte Chick-Fil-A Restaurant on Tamiami Trail. The suspect was armed and got away with an undetermined amount of cash.

 

We don’t have a lot of information, but Lee County deputies were on the scene at a home in the Polynesian Village neighborhood of Bonita Springs. The house was wrapped with crime scene tape, and police were also investigating a vehicle parked in front of the home. No further information is available.

 

Climate Scientists: Get Used To Heat Waves

  • Parts of the U.S. are bracing for a major heat wave this week, and climate researchers say it’s only going to get worse.
  • According to climate scientist Kristina Dahl, we can expect more and more days of “dangerous heat” in the coming decades if more efforts are not taken to combat climate change.
  • In fact, Dahl says by the year 2050 we could see the heat index over 100 degrees for an entire month at a time.

 

 

 

Primetime Emmy Award Nominees Announced

  • Game of Thrones has set the record for the most Primetime Emmy nominations ever for a single season.
  • The HBO drama captured 32 nominations when the list of actors and shows up for Emmys was announced on Tuesday.
  • Other shows receiving a high number of nominations are Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel with 20, HBO’s Chernobyl with 19 and NBC’s Saturday Night Live with 17 nods.
  • The Primetime Emmys will be held on September 22nd.

 

Doctors Remove Tick From Man’s Eye

Getting bitten by a tick is bad news even the best circumstances.  Now think how much worse that would be if that bite happened on your eyeball. That’s what happened to Chris Prater of Kentucky, who went to the doctor for eye irritation only to find out the culprit was a tick.  The doctor numbed his eye, removed the parasite, and sent him home with antibiotics and steroid drops for treatment. Prater works for an electric company and says his eye began bothering him after removing a tree.  He uses bug repellant each day before work but points out that “you can’t spray your eyes”. What’s your worst bug bite story?  Do you have a fear of the woods due to all the insects and critters?

 

 

Bagel Boss Guy Chris Morgan Signs Deal to Fight Other Viral Celebs

  • A short man who went viral for going toe to toe with someone almost twice his size at a NY bagel shop is looking to cash in.
  • Chris Morgan has signed a deal with a promoter to fight in Atlantic City later this year which may include a celebrity.
  • Morgan was seen in a viral video being slammed to the ground by a large man after getting into his face.
  • Many people were shocked at the scene because they weren’t expecting a fight at a bagel shop.
