The Lee County Sheriff's Office is investigating a death in the waters off Captiva Island yesterday. Apparently a swimmer was struggling in the water. The investigation is continuing. No cause of death has been released. Meanwhile, the strong current off Captiva can be tricky this time of the year as four people found out yesterday. They were all rescued, but officials are again warning beachgoers to be careful. Currents can be unpredictable, even when the water looks calm.

We have a health warning to tell you about. A sudden rise in Hepatitis A cases has state health officials concerned. Close to 2,000 cases have been reported across Florida and now the Centers for Disease Control is getting involved. 28 people have died from this serious liver infection.

A man riding an electric scooter was hit by a car while traveling on Chiquita Boulevard in Cape Coral yesterday. No ID on the man, who suffered head injuries, he's expected to be OK.  The driver of the car was not injured.

A Petition to Move Halloween to the Last Saturday of October Is Picking Up Steam

Last year the Halloween and Costume Association launched a petition to celebrate Halloween on the last Saturday of October instead of the 31st.  The theory is that the holiday could be celebrated in a more stress-free, family-friendly way where there is no school to contend with and trick-or-treaters would be able to scout the neighborhood for candy in the daylight hours, making it safer.  The petition has almost 59,000 signatures and it’s growing. Blind 14-year-old piano prodigy plays duet with Billy Joel at Madison Square Garden

Billy Joel gave a young teen a chance of a lifetime. The legendary musician took the time to have piano prodigy Logan Riman play alongside him at Madison Square Garden.
