A 13 year old student at Pine Ridge Middle School has been arrested after making threats against the school n Snapchat. Police say that Adrian Osorio threatened to bring gun and knives to school in a threat against a female classmate late last week.
Police also arrested a Volusia County man for threatening a mass shooting via text messages. 25 year old Tristan Wix. The suspect allegedly said he would “break a world record for longest confirmed kill ever,” Wix told police he didn’t own any guns, but was fascinated by mass shootings.
72 year old Carolyn Erwin was killed Saturday in five car crash at NE Pine Island Road and Barrett Road. A second motorist was injured and taken to Lee Memorial Hospital The crash is being investigated and charges are pending.
McDonald’s Launches New Type of Restaurant
There haven’t been too many breakthroughs when it comes to a McDonald’s restaurant since the advent of the “drive-through” until now. The burger and fries giant just launched its first “McDonald’s to Go” restaurant in London, what makes it so special you might ask? The restaurant only serves takeout, it replaces cashiers with electronic touchscreens and is completely stripped of decor and furniture. What will technology like this do for the fast-food business overall in the next 10 years? What might some of the social disadvantages of this type of restaurant be? In what ways could “McDonald’s to Go” enhance our fast food experience?
The Horror! Disney Wants You to Stop Sharing Your Streaming Passwords
Disney and Charter Communications are teaming up to stop multiple people from sharing the same streaming account. This includes Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+ In the joint agreement between the two they said they have agreed to work together on piracy mitigation. How they plan to stop you from using your ex or your besties log in is still unclear. Hulu currently has a block on how many people can stream on the platform at once. Neither HBO nor Netflix have a block on sharing of passwords even though it does state that sharing is a violation of terms of use. Who’s account are you using to stream?
Barbie Launches New Star Wars and Marvel-Inspired Dolls
Barbie has joined forces with Star Wars and the Marvel Universe for some new dolls. You will be able to get Barbie X-Men characters such as Storm, Mystique and Jean Grey. From Star Wars: A New Hope you will be able to Barbie versions of Princess Leia, R2-D2 and Darth Vader. You can see photos of the dolls on the Mattel Instagram page.
