Major Retailers Unveil Plans to Close on Thanksgiving
Continuing a growing trend that began in the wake of pre-Black Friday violence, a number of major retailers have announced plans to close for Thanksgiving.
Among the stores that won’t be open for business this year are Ace Hardware, BJ’s, Costco, Guitar Center, Hobby Lobby, Lowe’s, Marshalls, Petco, Sam’s Club, T.J. Maxx and True Value, according to BestBlackFriday.com.
While the website notes several major chains — including Target, Walmart, Macy’s, Sears and JCPenney — have not yet revealed their planned holiday hours, Best Buy, CVS and Walgreens have announced they will be open to Thanksgiving shoppers.
Do you support retailers’ decisions to close on Thanksgiving, or is that the only time you get to do some serious shopping?
