California Bans Tiny Plastic Bottles in Hotels
Collecting hotel toiletries will soon be a thing of the past. California is officially banning the tiny little bottles of bathroom products from hotels. According to CBS San Francisco Governor Gavin Newson has formally signed a law banning the toiletry bottles for hotels with more than 50 rooms. This will begin in 2023. For a hotel with less than 50 rooms, the law will take into effect in 2024.
This follows news that various large chains were getting rid of these plastic bottles, including Marriott International and Hyatt Hotels. Walt Disney Co. has also promised to stop using small bottles at their resorts and on their cruise ships.
Any business that violates this rule is subject to fines ranging from $500 to $2000.
