Prince Eric Has Been Cast For ‘The Little Mermaid’ Live-Action Remake
They have finally found an actor to play the Prince Eric character for Disney’s The Little Mermaid live–action remake. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the role with be played by British actor Jonah Hauer-King.
Hauer-King most recently appeared in A Dog’s Way Home. He’s also been in various BBC films, including a Little Women remake. Harry Styles was initially in talks to play Eric, but the deal fell through.
The rest of the cast has already been chosen. Halle Bailey will be Ariel, Melissa McCarthy will play Ursula, Javier Bardem will be King Triton, Jacob Tremblay will voice Flounder, Awkwafina will voice of Scuttle, and Daveed Diggs will voice Sebastian, the crab.
Production will begin in 2020.
