A New Jersey after school program dedicated to helping those in underserved communities find their pathway to college is the recent recipient of a $5 million donation from Oprah Winfrey.

Pathways To College, founded by Judith Griffin in 2003, really impressed the media mogul so much that she decided to give the non-profit the donation last September.

Griffin says she was “speechless” when she got word of the donation. Griffin shared the news with her students with a video from Oprah.

Pathways has to date served over 4,000 students with 100 percent of them being admitted to college and 68 percent of them graduating.
