Police Discover 100 Decomposing Bodies In U-Haul Truck Outside Funeral Home
Police discovered 100 decomposing bodies stacked in two U-Haul trucks outside the Andrew T. Cleckley Funeral Home in Brooklyn after neighbors complained they could “smell death.”
There were reportedly 50 bodies found in each of the unrefrigerated trucks, according to Daily Mail. The funeral home said it was forced to store bodies in the trucks after their freezer broke.
“For weeks already, there have been trucks constantly outside unloading bodies. You could smell the death,'” Jay Fredo told New York Daily News.
The facility is not currently facing any criminal charges but the home was cited for failing to control the odor.
Funeral homes across the have been overwhelmed in recent weeks amid the coronavirus pandemic.
