UPDATE: A bomb squad and K9 Unites conducted a sweep of the Justice Center and no suspicious items were found, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

A bomb threat was called in on Friday morning and forced the evacuation of the Lee County Justice Center in downtown Fort Myers, according to NBC2.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard is currently closed at US 41 while the Fort Myers Police Department sweeps through the Justice Center.

Officials believe the bomb threat could be a hoax, but are exhausting all options.

This is a developing story. Check back for more information shortly.
