The Miami Marlins have made history with their newly-hired General Manager.
On Friday, the team announced that Kim Ng would take over as GM. She’s the first woman ever to serve as GM of an MLB team – and the first Asian-American GM as well.
“I entered Major League Baseball as an intern and, after decades of determination, it is the honor of my career to lead the Miami Marlins as their next general manager,” Ng said in a statement shared by the Marlins’ Twitter account.
Ng has spent 30 years in the major leagues, starting as a White Sox intern in 1990 and spending time with the Yankees, Dodgers, and MLB commissioner’s office.
