Nick Jonas is set to host the 2021 Billboard Music Awards, airing live Sunday May 23, on NBC, Billboard reports.

Fellow Voice coach Kelly Clarkson hosted the last three years. Jonas seems to enjoy the hoopla around award shows: he announced this year's Oscar nominations with his wife, Priyanka Chopra Jonas last month.

The Jonas Brothers won three Billboard Music Awards last year for Top Duo/Group, Top Radio Songs Artist and Top Radio Song for “Sucker,” their first No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. They were also nominated for top artist.

The Jonas Brothers were super successful as a teen pop group from 2007-2010, landing a pair of No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 and a Grammy nomination for best new artist. In the past two years, they've come back stronger with a third No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 and another Grammy nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Sucker.”

As a solo artist, Jonas has also had his success with his song “Jealous,” a top 10 hit on the Hot 100. He also received the Hal David Starlight Award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2016.

Nick Jonas' third solo album, Spaceman, was released on March 12. He said that “most of the songs are pretty much just love letters” to his wife, Priyanka Chopra Jonas. “When I can’t articulate the way I feel with my words with no music, I go to the studio. And I’m grateful to have that because it makes her happy, and that’s most important.”

Yesterday, the top finalists were announced for the Billboard Music Awards, with The Weeknd leading the finalists in sixteen categories. DaBaby follows as a finalist 11 times in nine categories, with double appearances in both Top Streaming Song and Top Collaboration.

The 2021 Billboard Music Awards will air live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles Sunday, May 23 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on NBC.
