Tropical Storm Elsa Update: Storm Surge Warning
The latest update at 5 o’clock did what was expected. Tropical Storm Elsa is now weaker with sustained winds on 50 mph. Rain is already moving through SWFL with the occasional gusts. A Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect for the coast of SWFL and now extends further north. This is probably due to the more Westerly track of Elsa. Check out this picture from Cape Coral:
Elsa will mostly likely remain at Tropical Storm strength as it goes by us tomorrow moving NW at 14 mph. Expect some more rain, a little more rain, and some wind. The Emergency Alert just activated the “storm surge” warning.
Here’s the chart:
Just for comparison, Hurricane Irma gave us a storm surge of around 5 feet.
So safe everyone. Driving to work in the morning may get a little interesting with some rain bands. But we got this.
