Tom Cruise Landed a Helicopter in a Family’s Yard, Offers Them a Ride
It’s a bird, it’s a plane! No, wait, it’s Tom Cruise in a helicopter coming right to your home — at least he did for this one U.K. family.
Per CBS News, Cruise, 59, landed his helicopter in Alison Webb’s field near film location for the latest Mission: Impossible movie in Birmingham, U.K. The nearby airport was closed and Cruise needed a place to land his chopper, so his team asked if her land could be used for an unnamed “VIP who was running late.”
When the helicopter made land, none other than Tom Cruise emerged. “I thought it would be kind of cool for the kids to see the helicopter land in the garden,” Webb said. “He [Tom Cruise] basically arrived and got out and it was like, wow.”
Webb said Cruise immediately walked over to her children and “elbow bumped” them to say hello and thank them. “Then he said if the kids would like they could go up in the helicopter,” she said.
Cruise let the kids take a ride while he went to a meeting. “It turned out to be an incredible day,” Webb said. “It was surreal, I still now can’t believe it happened.”
Cruise has been spending the last several months in Europe filming the seventh installment of the Mission: Impossible series. While production was shut down last February while filming in Italy, filming resumed almost half a year later in September and moved to London in December.
The Paramount Pictures produced movie was scheduled to premiere this November, but was pushed to May 27, 2022.
