The COPS TV Show Is Back!
We all remember the COPS tv show and of course, the iconic theme song “Bad boys, bad boys, what ya gonna do?” Well, get ready to sing again, because COPS is back!
The original COPS show ran for an amazing 32 seasons from March of 1989 until it was cancelled in 2020 amidst a series of anti-police protests. I remember back in high school, meeting up with friends and watching COPS before we went out. It was our ritual.
The new season of COPS isn’t going to be on regular television, it will be streaming exclusively on the Fox Nation app. On Friday, October 1st, 4 seasons will become available and an addition episode will go live each Friday after for a total of 8 episodes. Clearly with only 8 episodes being produced this is being seen as a trial run. If the return of the show is popular I’d expect more.
The Fox Nation app is a paid subscription app, but they will be giving out free subscriptions to all first responders such as police, EMS, and firefighters so they can watch the show for free. The link is here: FOX
Here’s one of the episodes where COPS filmed in Fort Myers, featuring Officer Emilia Santos:
This episode featured Fort Myers Police Officer Cassie McHale:
Will COPS return to film more episodes here in SWFL? I hope so.
