Robocalls Decreasing, But Spam Texts Going Up
Tired of getting calls about your car’s extended warranty? We’ve got some good news – and some bad news. The good news – those annoying ‘robocalls’ are starting to go away. According to reports, robocalls in the U.S. were down 29% in August compared to June. The bad news? Spam text messages went up by 8% over the same time period, and are up by more than 50% over last year. Overall, more than 2 billion robocalls and 7 billion spam texts are sent each month in the U.S.
Are you getting fewer robocalls the last few months? Or the calls are being flagged as possible scams? It's real! There's progress, but not enough. Read which phone companies are complying with the new caller ID verification law. @teresamurray https://t.co/owo7qRLUEs pic.twitter.com/5DnCOjmZMo
