If you are traveling this weekend you are not alone. AAA predicts nearly 48 million Americans will be getting out of town. And that is  just this holiday weekend. We want to help make life a little easier with these must have summer travel apps.

Whether you are flying, driving, staying in state or going out of the country, planning right now is key. There are a few phone apps that could make life a little easier. We've put together five favorites to help.

HEALTH

Health is still a big concern for many and keeping up with frequently changing COVID restrictions and protocols is still a thing, like it or not. Download TripIt. It has up to date info on the city, state or country you are visiting.

DINING

Experiencing local restaurants is one of the best things about traveling to a new city. But securing reservations can be challenging. Download a reservation and wait-list management platform like Resy.

SAVING MONEY

If you have not booked your travel yet check out the Hopper app for saving some money. It predicts airfares by analyzing billions of prices during the day. It then alerts when prices are best so you can make your purchase. It also works with some hotels

COMMUNICATION

Going to a foreign country and need to know how to ask for directions or order food? Google Translate is a great tool. Besides spoken words, it an also help translate text and documents that are in a language you can't read.

CYBER SAFETY

There are all kinds of online travel-related scams floating around and hackers just waiting for you to let your guard down. Lookout is an app that monitors and finds unsafe Wi-Fi networks. In addition, the app tracks suspicious URL's that pop up in your email or text messages.

One more tip: If you are flying, it's also a good practice to download your airline's mobile app. Apps provide the most up to date info when it comes to delays. It's also a convenient way to keep track of your boarding pass. Just have it up and loaded when it's your turn to board.
