BOOZY MILKSHAKE
Boozy milkshakes make great desserts when your out, or even at home. They are really easy to make and fun to tweak along the way. Just take a shot of your favorite liquor and dump it in the blender. Now, a little more thought than that would help. Gin would not make the best partnership with chocolate (perhaps strawberry) but vodka would, or Amaretto, Baileys–you get the picture.
If you have a favorite boozy coffee drink, make it but also make sure it is chilled then add it to the scoops of ice cream in your blender. Vanilla and chocolate make great bases for this. The fun part is tasting along the way, to get the portions and texture to your liking.
Sunday (July 17th) was National Ice Cream Day and there were all kinds of sales, BOGO’s and such in the supermarkets and they will likely continue in some form through the summer. It’s a great time to stock up on your favorites and make a milkshake for a change.
