A Look At Volcan Tequila’s Cocktail Competition
Taking a look at Volcan Tequila’s Cocktail competition in which restaurants and bars all over Lee County were tasked with creating inventive drinks using the brand.
The drinks have been featured at the establishments for the last 60 days. However, last night it all came down to who’s cocktail is king. LYNQ invited bartenders from each restaurant to craft their specialty cocktails for a panel of judges.
I was one of them, tasked with scoring each cocktail on creativity, taste and presentation.
The Players
Those who showed up included Rumrunners, Ember Korean Steakhouse, City Tavern, Blu Sushi Downtown, Yucatan Beach Stand, LYNQ and Vixens.
Each bartender explained the thought process behind the cocktail and how they incorporated Volcan Tequila. Then they measured, shook and finally, poured each cocktail with precision.
The Winner
The host team, LYNQ, came out on top. They pulled out all of the stops, smoking the anejo for a delightful aroma and lighting Grand Marnier on fire for a fun visual effect. Here’s a look at Volcan Tequila’s Cocktail Competition.
