Holiday Cocktail Bombs
This should be a fabulous find but it’s also appropriate for Monday Funday. I tried these holiday cocktail bombs at a Christmas party last night and they were a lot of fun. A dear friend had a girls sparkler. We all dressed up and gathered for some holiday cheer. She also had a friend (male) tend bar for the girls. I put the box of cocktail bombs on his table and his eyes got big.
They are these little flavor bombs. Think of how bath bombs fizz in the tub. These do the same in your drinks. There are dozens of flavors. My box was a sampling of six. Like a box of chocolates, it came with a picture guide. We tried to match up the colors in order to determine what kind of cocktail to make. I wanted to drop the flavor balls in a flute of sparking wine, However, their size concerned me. I thought it might be too concentrated.
How we used the cocktail bombs
We started a blue and white ball we determined to be coconut margarita. Dropping it into a glass of tequila and soda, we watched and waited. For the record, we did NOT follow directions. We were having too much fun. Directions say we should drop the bomb in sparkling water first. Next, let it do its thing for five minutes. The bomb needs time to dissolve. Lastly, add the alcohol and the ice.
Finally we tried the sparkling wine pairing. Here is a fun video we made of our bartender Ryan having fun and sampling along the way.
Turns out the bomb used in the video was a Cranberry Lemonade Glimmer Bomb, not a mimosa bomb, although I do think they exist. That is why the color was so dark and delicious.
In conclusion, these bombs were a lot of fun. They are also good for mocktails. If you are not consuming alcohol, you can put one of these bombs in sparkling water or soda. There are also hot chocolate bombs for the kids, both big and little. The holiday sampler pack is $29.99.
