Over the weekend, War of the Food Trucks went down in Cape Coral. What a battle it was.

40+ food trucks from all over the state of Florida came to the German American Social Club in Cape Coral to battle it out for the title of Best of the Best Food Truck. There was a little bit of everything from desserts, Greek, lobster, Mexican, Polish, hot dogs, BBQ and more.

I got the very tough job of being one of the judges. Tough because everything was just SO good! I went in with the strategy of 1-2 bites of each dish, but it was so hard to stop there. Picking just one favorite would be impossible. If you missed the event, here are the winners so you if you see them out and about, you can stop and try them for yourself.

The winners are…drumroll please….

People’s Choice:

  1. World Famous Egg Roll
  2. Best Dressed Egg
  3. Pryceless Island Grill

Judges Choice:

  1. Grace’s Taste of Poland
  2. Seminole Casino Lucky Gator
  3. Tia’s Kitchen

These Are Florida’s Favorite Food Truck Items

To determine this, Shane & Co. compiled a list of the top ten food trucks in Florida. Then, they found the overall top 30 menu items based on the online listings from the 10 local Florida trucks.

Whether it’s Korean barbeque, lobster rolls, truffle fries, or Baja fish tacos, we all have our favorite eats from our local food trucks. Sometimes the street food is even more scrumptious than the award-winning restaurant downtown. To uncover which menu items food truck lovers are craving most, Shane Co. turned to Google Trends.

Florida’s Favorite Food Truck Item is a Cuban Sandwich, followed by Acai Bowl

Using Google Trends, Shane & Co. analyzed the search volume of each menu item within each state over the past 12 months. In total, we analyzed search data for 1,500+ menu items from 500 food trucks across the U.S. to find the most popular food truck order and food truck cuisine by state and nationwide.
