Ariana Grande’s New Boyfriend’s Wife Says Family Is Torn Apart

Ariana Grande splitting up with her husband Dalton Gomez has stirred up plenty of drama since news of her dating her Wicked co-star, Ethan Slater. As we previously reported, Grande and Gomez have been separated since January after two years of marriage. Meanwhile, Slater and his wife, Lilly Jay, have been married since 2018 after knowing each other since high school. They welcomed a son last August. In March, a photo of Ariana and Ethan sitting next to each other with the cast of Wicked celebrating Michelle Yeoh’s Oscar win in London circulated online.

Ariana and Ethan apparently didn’t start dating until after he separated from Lilly. However, just two months ago, Ethan paid tribute to Lilly for Mother’s Day on his now-private Instagram. He called her “the most loving caring and wonderful mom/person in the world.” Ethan’s biggest break before landing his role as Boq in Wicked was playing SpongeBob Squarepants in the Broadway musical. He earned a Tony Award nomination for his performance.

The Broadway actor's now-estranged wife feels Slater abandoned his family gossip website TMZ reports. Sources close to Lilly Jay say she is "devastated her family's been torn apart." Jay apparently worries their son won't have both his mom and dad around constantly now that they've separated. Sources tell the gossip site that Lilly and Ethan aren't on good terms now that his relationship with Ariana has begun. She now feels that Ethan has completely turned his back on his family.

Apparently, Ariana used to hang out with both Ethan and Lilly while they were still a happily married couple. She even liked Ethan's Mother's Day tribute. Additional sources told the gossip site, "It's understandable that emotions are high, and it's hard seeing your ex move on, especially in such a public way, and her friends are trying to protect her. But Ari and Ethan are just trying to lay low and be respectful of their exes as they pursue this new relationship." However, US Weekly has a different story, reporting that both couples were not fully separated when the Grande and Slater romance began.

“Ethan sat Lilly down a few days before the news broke about him and Ariana and said that he wanted a divorce. Lilly never saw it coming!” a source told the publication. “Ariana and Ethan weren’t careful… They’d hold hands on set in between takes. They were sloppy and not hiding it.” Neither Grande nor Slater have publicly addressed their relationship. On social media, a video has gone viral about Ariana's "long history of cheating in relationships." A separate video that has also gone viral debunks the cheating allegations on Twitter.

He went on to reveal, “I cry a lot. I get into deep conversations. I care about your s—. I like to meet your family. I like to know who you are. And some families are like, ‘Who the f--- are you?’ So I’m a lot for certain people. It was just how I was raised.”
